IMPRESSIVE ACHIEVEMENT

"For the first time ever, Mongolia has won the 'Best in the World' award."

This year, three teams of 18 students from our school participated in the Cambridge Upper Secondary Science Competition of 2023. Out of the three, a team of 9th-grade students led by our biology teachers won two prestigious awards for their research work titled "Biological assessment of water quality of the Selbe River in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia". They won the "BEST TEAM" of East Asia among 270 teams and the "BEST IN THE WORLD" awards.

The Cambridge program has been in operation since 1858. In Mongolia, the program has been officially launched by secondary education schools since 2008. Currently, there are 31 schools in Mongolia that have been authorised to implement the Cambridge program as of the 2023-2024 school year. Out of these 31 schools, nine teams participated in the competition from Mongolia, three of them were our school's.

By participating in this competition, students can avail the following opportunities, among them:

Cultivate a keen interest and passion for science by engaging in research, practical experiments and application.

Enrich the knowledge and skills of natural science studied in the lesson.

Introduce what is learnt to peers and the public, while promoting collaboration, communication, innovation and creativity to support the development of Cambridge Learner Attributes.

Develop fundamental life skills such as research, meditation, collaboration, self-expression, building relationships with others, and creative thinking can help individuals succeed in various aspects of life.

Increase their ability to study at college or university and compete in the workplace. Having a strong foundation of these skills can also provide advantages such as enabling individuals to compete internationally.

Congratulations to our students and teachers! We wish them continued success!
